The role of our Learning & Development Officer (L&D Officer) is important in ensuring our frontline operational teams have the right skills and knowledge to give our passengers a first class customer service.
You will support the candidate journey and employee experience from recruitment at our assessment centres, through induction and onto career development and succession planning. The L&D Officer will deliver the foundation for our teams to be trusted to do the right thing and inspire a culture of respect, where open and honest feedback and developmental conversations are part of everyday life.
Not only will you develop new and existing operational staff, you will also mentor operational line managers/supervisors and ensure they have the tools they need to motivate and support their teams to get the best out of them.
Whilst coordinating the logistics of training, including booking rooms, refreshments, email invites and maintaining all training related records and collateral; you’ll create monthly reports and training certificates.
We are looking for someone with the ability to create an inclusive learning environment, preferably from a retail or hospitality background.
With experience in creating and delivering content in a number of different ways, from classroom to vocational on the job training; you’ll be an influential communicator with an engaging delivery style, bringing to life the training programme to ensure our employees are continuously improving and growing in their roles.
With a passion for people and helping them develop, you will be able to lead by example, be positive and have a can do attitude.
You’ll be resilient and empathetic with the ability to coach and mentor people and understand what motivates them.
Where: You will have a base at our head office at Clipper House, Trinity Buoy Wharf, Poplar, London E14 0JY, a short walk from Canning Town tube or a hop across the river from North Greenwich tube. However you will be expected to travel between North Greenwich and Westminster piers to visit the teams for on the job training.
When: We’ll be holding interviews in November and looking for someone to start soon after.
