Sunday 18th April 2021
Here at Uber Boat by Thames Clippers we strive to be excellent and take pride in everything we do, we trust in the power of strong teamwork, and we respect one another's uniqueness, making it a great place to work!
As our Fleet Control Manager you will run the control room operation and manage and motivate the busy fleet control team.
This is a crucial role, with lots of responsibility to ensure our vessels arrive and leave on time from each pier. So you’ll have a direct impact on our customer’s happiness!
You’ll be relied upon to direct and optimise the day to day activities of the fleet, focusing on service delivery and punctuality of our vessels to ensure our timetable runs efficiently. That means ensuring the fleet control team are trained and developed in the delivery of an effective and professional control room service.
You’ll also make sure the team provide real time information to our passengers and operational employees through means such as to VHF communication, service disruption messages on social media and email service alerts.
You’ll work with Fleet Operations management and the Sales team to ensure the vessels are adequately staffed and consistently monitored; have full accountability for all reporting and KPI delivery; and ensure that Fleet control comply with the company’s safety management system and all legislative requirements.
With previous control room experience from a logistics or transport background, you’ll know how to run a busy but well-organised and resourceful operation.
We are looking for someone with excellent people management skills and a capability of promoting and delivering continuous individual and team development to enhance people capability.
You must have a high level of resilience as well as an ability to do things at pace without loss of accuracy. As you can imagine, this is a busy role in a transport company so you need to be able to deal with shifting priorities in a calm manner.
The Fleet Control team works shifts from Monday to Sunday, so you’ll need to be flexible in your approach to work and make sure important information is shared effectively across the team. This role means you will work with most departments so you will need to be good at building strong working relationships and be able to communicate effectively, so you become a trusted and valued member of the team.
We’ll give you all the training you need regarding our systems as well as a thorough induction on how the operations at Thames Clippers work, so you will be set up for success.
Where: You’ll be based our head office at Clipper House, Trinity Buoy Wharf, Poplar, London E14 0JY, a short walk from Canning Town tube or a hop across the river on our company boat from North Greenwich tube. Though right now due to Covid restrictions we are working from home.
Interviews will take place on 15 and 16 April via MS Teams.
