Full Description

The role: Thames Clippers are looking for a Fleet Control Manager to run the Thames Clippers control room operation and manage and motivate the busy fleet control team.

You will direct, optimise and coordinate the day to day activities of the fleet, focusing on service delivery and punctuality of our vessels.

Whilst guiding, training and developing our control room operators in the delivery of an effective and efficient control room service; you will ensure that the fleet resourcing plans are in line with financial budgets.

One of the critical aspects of the role is making sure the Fleet Control team provide real time information to our passengers and operational employees including but not limited to VHF communication, service disruption messages on social media and email service alerts.

You’ll working with Fleet Operations management and the Sales team to ensure the vessels are adequately staffed and minimum staffing requirements are met and consistently monitored.

You’ll have full accountability for all reporting and KPI’s delivery within the required timeframe and ensure that Fleet control comply with the company’s safety management system and all legislative requirements.

You: With previous control room experience from a logistics or transport background, you’ll have excellent management skills and a capability of promoting and delivering continuous individual and team development to enhance people capability.

You must have a high level of energy, drive and resilience as well as an ability to do things at pace without loss of accuracy.

With an analytical and an extremely organised approach to work; you will be committed and flexible and be able to work under pressure, multi-task and prioritise workloads.

You’ll have excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to build good relationships with both internal colleagues and external organisations.

You’ll be able to thrive in a very busy operational environment and maintain patience and empathy even when working under pressure.

Where: You’ll be based our head office at Clipper House, Trinity Buoy Wharf, Poplar, London E14 0JY, a short walk from Canning Town tube or a hop across the river on our company boat from North Greenwich tube.
