As a Revenue Protection Officer at MBNA Thames Clippers you will support our Customer Services team to ensure that all passengers have purchased the correct ticket for their journey with us. This will include detecting and dealing with any fare evaders on board our boats and at our piers along that Thames.
• Collecting missed revenue and capturing relevant information, keeping accurate and appropriate records to enable us to monitor fare evasion;
• Thoroughly monitoring records, investigating any patterns in fare evasion and proposing intervention methods required to resolve the issue;
• Assisting the Systems Manager with ‘cash lifts’ and audits of cash handling processes; and
• Maintaining a high standard of customer care at all times.
We are looking for someone with experience in a customer facing role, either within the retail, customer service or hospitality sector.
You will need to have confidence in dealing with people of all backgrounds and be comfortable questioning people about their ticket purchase; sometimes this could be in a tense situation.
You must have a genuine desire and ability to work with the public in a front line, customer focused environment, maintaining empathy even when under pressure.
A team player with a positive attitude to work, you will be committed and flexible in your approach to work and a competent user of Word, Excel and other Microsoft packages.
Good written and communication skills are important as is attention to detail and with the ability to assist in preparing reports.
Where: You’ll be based on our boats and piers for a majority of the time, anywhere between Woolwich and Putney. But don’t worry, we’ll give you a full uniform to protect you from the British weather!
Our office is based at Clipper House, Trinity Buoy Wharf, Poplar, London E14 0JY, a short walk from Canning Town tube or a hop across the river from North Greenwich tube.
